Splash Singapore has added a powerful roster of charterers and cargo interests to its inaugural conference programme, reinforcing the event’s ambition to become the most commercially relevant gathering on the Asian shipping calendar.
Created by the organisers of the chartering heavy Geneva Dry conference, Splash Singapore is bringing together both sides of the freight equation, with senior representatives from some of the world’s largest commodity producers, traders and cargo interests confirmed to participate in Singapore this September.
The growing charterer presence includes executives from companies spanning mining, commodities and industrial sectors, ensuring discussions extend beyond vessel ownership and into the demand drivers shaping global shipping markets. The likes of Rio Tinto, Vale, South32, and Heidelberg Materials are among early sign-ups to take the stage with more names to be unveiled shortly.
“Shipping ultimately exists to serve trade,” said Splash Singapore co-founder Grant Rowles. “We’ve worked hard to make sure the conversations in Singapore aren’t taking place in an echo chamber. Having major cargo interests and charterers involved means delegates will hear directly from the companies generating demand for ships, not just the companies operating them.”
The addition of leading cargo interests further strengthens a programme that already features one of the strongest shipowner line-ups assembled for a first-year shipping event.
By bringing together shipowners, charterers, financiers, technology providers and maritime decision-makers under one roof, Splash Singapore aims to create a forum focused on practical business discussions rather than traditional conference presentations.
The event will take place at the Fairmont on September 24, with more speaker announcements expected in the coming weeks.
