South Korea-based Hyundai Glovis is launching its first European vehicle logistics hub in Amsterdam, handling import, export and distribution across the continent.
The agreement was signed by the Port of Amsterdam, Hyundai Glovis and Koopman Logistics Group which will manage the terminal logistics operations.
From 1 January 2027, Hyundai Glovis will begin operating across approximately 47 hectares of land within the port area, consolidating vehicle flows currently dispersed across multiple European ports.
The Amsterdam hub will consolidate Hyundai Glovis’ European vehicle import, export and distribution flows, bringing together cargo currently dispersed across multiple European ports into a single location before onward distribution to European markets.
Koen Overtoom, CEO of the Port of Amsterdam, said: “We are building the Port of the future: connected, clean and internationally competitive. Hyundai Glovis is exactly the kind of global partner that fits that ambition.”
The consolidation is expected to generate a significant increase in vessel calls at the Amsterdam car terminal and more intensive use of both nautical infrastructure and hinterland rail connections.
